European stock markets were in the positive territory at the end of trading on Monday, after the European Commission reported a modest improvement in consumer confidence in the euro area. Traders also looked into statements ECB policymakers had made throughout the day.
The DAX closed with a 0.46% gain as Sartorius rose by 4.83%. The FTSE 100 increased by 0.18% at the close with Ocado Group, up 3.90%, as the best performer. The CAC 40 was up 0.52% at the end of trading as Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield advanced 4.79%. The EURO STOXX 50 closed 0.75% higher with ASML Holding adding 4.17%.
The euro was up 0.10% compared to the dollar, going for 1.08679 at 5:35 pm CET. The pound was 0.16% lower than the greenback, trading at 1.23740 at the same time.
