Major stock market indexes in the United States extended their gains on Thursday in the aftermath of the newest report that revealed that initial jobless claims in the country saw a weekly rise of just 9,000.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average grew by 1.10% or 360 points at 1:33 pm ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 increased by 2.44% or 259 points. The S&P 500 gained 1.76%.
The euro went up by 0.64% against the dollar at 1:38 pm ET to sell for $1.06755.
