Trump unveils three pillars of new healthcare plan

United States President Donald Trump unveiled on Thursday a new healthcare plan with which the Republicans hope to replace Obamacare. The president explained that his plan was based on three pillars and that he would sign an executive order outlining them and instructing their execution.
Trump announced that the first pillar would be «more choice for the American patients,» meaning choosing among several healthcare options, as well as making premiums tax-deductible. The second pillar is planned to be lower healthcare costs for families and seniors, ending «surprise billing,» increasing transparency and competition and lowering drug prices. The president stated that the third pillar is «better care,» including «the first-ever executive order to affirm it is the official policy of the United States government to protect patients with preexisting conditions.»
