NEW YORK CITY (VINnews) – Both factions of Satmar had an opportunity to have their concerns heard by the Trump camp, with representatives of each group taking advantage of an opportunity to speak with Eric Trump in Manhattan.
The meetings were held on September 18th at Trump Tower.
Long-time Trump associate Yehuda Kaploun, who arranged the separate sit-downs for each group, said that Eric Trump was fully acquainted with the history of Satmar, its Rebbes, and its communities’ unique needs. Among the topics discussed at Trump Tower were religious liberties, safety and security for the global Jewish community and issues directly impacting the country’s large Satmar population.
In addition to meeting with the Satmar delegations, the Trump camp is continuing to campaign hard within the Jewish community.
Former president Donald Trump was scheduled to meet with CUNY college students who have been victims of anti-Semitism today at Gottlieb’s, an iconic kosher deli located in the heart of Williamsburg, but that visit has been cancelled after the unexpected death of its owner this morning. Videos circulating on social media over the last few days have showcased Secret Service agents outside the restaurant, and cleaning crews studiously scrubbing the windows and hosing down the sidewalk in advance of Trump’s visit.
The former president will also be speaking later today at a Jewish leadership rally in Washington D.C.
