“A hurt dog barks.”
That’s what Tucker Carlson said as he aired various bits of the 41,000 hours of surveillance video captured at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. If you want to know what the hurt dog sounds like, just listen to Senator Chuck Schumer on March 7: “Rupert Murdoch has a special obligation to stop Tucker Carlson from going on tonight [and] from letting him go on again and again and again [because] our democracy depends on it.”
Really, Chuck? Does “our democracy” depend on preventing the American people from seeing what really happened at the Capitol on January 6, 2021?
Or is it only the Democratic-media narrative that is at stake, that the protest at the Capitol on that day was an “insurrection,” an attack against America on a par with 9/11, Pearl Harbor, or, indeed, the Civil War?
I think it is the latter. That is to say, I think Chuck Schumer, and all the ditto heads in the media and the government, are terrified that their carefully crafted anti-Trump narrative is crumbling.
I think they are right. It’s been a bad week for The Narrative. First there was Donald Trump’s extraordinary ninety-minute speech at CPAC. It was extraordinary for two reasons. First, Trump said things that no politician is supposed to say. He promised “retribution” for the many people who have been harmed by the incontinent policies of the Deep State. He also promised that, if elected, he would “totally obliterate the Deep State. I will fire the unelected bureaucrats and shadow forces who have weaponized our justice system… I will put the people back in charge of this country again.”
People like Chuck Schumer, Liz Cheney and Mitch McConnell don’t want that to happen. They hated Trump’s speech, as did the regime media. But the people loved it.
They loved all the things that Trump said that you are not supposed to say. And they also loved his bracing new ideas. Don’t fix our crumbling cities, he said, build new ones: it’s cheaper and it can fix some of the pathologies that have taken root in the legacy cities. Don’t let the educrats and “experts” appoint school principals; let the parents do that. Don’t ignore the great “birth dearth” that’s harming our society; adopt explicitly pro-natal policies that will encourage people to have more children.
People were amazed to hear a politician say these things. Trump, they concluded, over the whining objections of the testosterone-free media, was back.
And then, just a few days later, Tucker Carlson showed how the anti-Trump battalions had lied about January 6. Liz Cheney and her Kangaroo Court lied about what happened. So did Nancy Pelosi and the regime media.
